Just like our soups are made from scratch, EVO was built from nothing by Ali & Amina Fardos in May 2015. Well, not quite nothing: Ali had years of retail experience in the family bodega business, and a few loyal employees that stuck with him for this new adventure. His wife Amina makes the most delicious homemade Lebanese dishes you'll find anywhere, which are now a cornerstone of the shop. This small but dedicated team was the foundation for a decade of growth, care, and refinement that shaped the small, home-cooked health-food haven we have today.
In the beginning, Ali & Amina knew for certain that they wanted to provide healthy and diverse food to the East Village. With the help of family, trusted employees, and neighborhood friends and businesses, EVO has become a hub for good vibes, quality health food and community connection.
Today, East Village Organic has a solid team in place - a friendly and efficient staff, an experienced buyer that sources from local to international vendors, and of course, the Fardos family - including the next generation taking their place in the family business.
